In its own way, the development in Chino Hills has made the city as beautiful as nature.
It’s been just over two years since Cynthia Moran started Cyn in the City nights. What many people don’t know is that the genesis for Cyn in the City was a Chamber of Commerce mixer held at the Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center (PVHMC) on Grand Avenue. That’s where I met Cynthia Moran for the first time and the rest is history. We’ve done over 25 Cyn in the City events in conjunction with local businesses since then, averaging one per month.
So it is fitting that on Wednesday, July 27, we will be holding a Cyn in the City Night at the Pomona Valley Health Center’s other Chino Hills location by Grand Avenue and Chino Hills Parkway. This is kind of our two-year anniversary so we hope that it will be a huge crowd!
Ladies, mark your calendars:
For Whom: Any gals, 21 & over, that enjoy spending time and networking with other local women. You don’t have to have a business. This if for mom’s, wives, women in general. Just don’t bring your kids. It’s a night out.
What: Cyn in the City Night – There will be food, entertainment, health information, and plenty of prizes. Come at any time during the evening.
When: July 27, 2011 from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM
Where: Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center (PVHMC) at 2140 Grand Avenue #125, (come to side entrance on the Christian School side). The Chino Hills PVHMC is located near the corner of Grand Avenue and Chino Hills Parkway in Chino Hills.
To prepare for our evening we met with some of the staff of the Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center located in Chino Hills (There are two: one near the corner of Chino Hills Parkway and Grand Avenue and the other one at Crossroads near the Harkins Theatre). We are very fortunate to have PVHMC as part of our community. Many people are not aware of the high caliber health care we can enjoy so close to home. The PVHMC is an outreach of Pomona Valley Hospital which has been serving the Inland Empire since 1903. They have four award winning “Centers of Excellence” including a Cancer Care Center, a Heart and Vascular Center, a Women’s and Children’s Center, and a Regional Kidney Stone Center. Here’s a little information on each of them:
The Robert and Beverly Lewis Family Cancer Care Center , 1910 Royalty Drive, Pomona, CA 91767 – Phone: 909.865.9555
PVHMC’s Cancer Care Center offers a comprehensive program of services from education and screening for the prevention of cancer, to state-of-the-art medical and radiation cancer treatment, with emotional support offered through all aspects of treatment.
The Stead Heart and Vascular Center, 1798 North Garey Avenue, Pomona, CA 91767 – Phone: 909.865.9596
Their heart and Vascular Center offers one of the most complete lines of cardiovascular and stroke services in Los Angeles and San Bernardino Counties. The Stead Heart and Vascular Center is quickly becoming the top-rated, highest volume comprehensive heart program in the Inland Valley.
They recently earned their Primary Stroke Center certification, a “Gold Seal of Approval” for certification as a Primary Stroke Center, along with being named one of Thomson Reuter’s 2011 50 Top Cardio Hospitals in the Nation.
The Women’s Center at PVHMC, 1798 North Garey Avenue, Pomona, CA 91767 – Phone: 909.865.9858
In response to the growing health care needs of women and children in the region, Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center (PVHMC) built a state-of-the-art medical facility. Ground was broken in 1990 and the impressive, three story Women’s Center, designed specifically to meet the medical and personal needs of women and children, was opened in February 1992.
The Women’s Center at PVHMC provides a warm and caring environment complete with a comprehensive range of obstetrical, pediatric and women’s programs, including services for women and children with special risks and health care needs.
The Regional Kidney Stone Center , 155 East Artesia Street, Pomona, CA 91767 – Phone: 909.865.9899
This is the region’s premier facility for the evaluation and treatment of kidney stones and related urological conditions. Every year, hundreds of kidney stone patients turn to The PVHMC Regional Kidney Stone Center for the most technologically advanced, comfortable and convenient medical care available. They have more than 35-boarded urologists, specially trained nurses and board-certified anesthesiologists and are committed to providing the best kidney stone care available in Southern California.
The good news is that these award winning Centers of Excellence are available to all Chino Hills residents through the PVHMC’s Neighborhood Clinics. PVHMC’s roots in Chino Hills began in the year 2000, when they opened up their first local satellite on Pipeline near Chino Hills Parkway. They quickly outgrew that facility and today the hospital has two satellites located in Chino Hills. All of their facilities are connected an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) System. This makes referrals effortless and very convenient.
Cynthia Moran told us, “We hope you’ll be able to make July’s Cyn in the City Night on the 27th. It should be one of our best. The PVHMC staff is very excited and planning a great evening for our gals.”
