Relay for Life Info Shared at Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce
At this week’s Business @ Breakfast, Renee Chew, spoke on the upcoming Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society. The event was held at the Chino Hills Community Building at 14250 Peyton Dr. in Chino Hills. Mrs. Chew and her colleague Nadia have been involved in relays for 15 years.
The women pointed out that, “Almost everyone knows someone who’s been touched by cancer”. The Core values of the American Cancer Society are:
- Integrity
- Compassion
- Courage
- Determination
- Diversity
Their mission is to save lives, celebrate lives and lead the cause for a world without cancer. Their programs include:
- Lodging during treatment for cancer victims
- Rides to treatment
- Connecting cancer survivors
- Breast cancer support
- Hair loss and mastectomy products
- Caregiver support services
Money donated to the cause goes to each of these programs depending on the amounts donated. This year’s relay day is October 1st from 9:00 am until 9:00 pm. The linked brochure below has more information:
